Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers is pleased to offer $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in our local communities. The scholarships, which may be used at any two or four year college, are awarded to students for writing essays regarding the ongoing problems surrounding drinking and driving. Students applying for the scholarship are asked to address the following question:
“Drunk driving by both those who are underage and by young adults, is an ongoing problem in our community. You have been selected to organize your classmates to work with some or all of the following people: the community, business and religious leaders, as well as the police to combat the issue of drunk driving. What message would you want to communicate and to whom? What presentations, changes to existing laws, and activities would you suggest be developed?”
Four winners were selected in 2006. They represent the following high schools: Greenwood High School, Warren East High School, Warren Central High School, and Bowling Green High School. Click here to read the scholarship essays.
