Hardin County Crash Claims Teen Life, Seriously Injures Two
Kentucky State Police say 17-year-old Alma Martinez Flores, Hodgenville, was unlicensed at the time of Sunday’s crash which killed her and sent two more, including a 2-year-old, to the hospital.
KSP reports shortly after 6 p.m. Flores was operating a 2002 Ford Explorer when she lost control, overcorrecting into an embankment and striking a tree. The SUV came to a rest on four wheels after flipping once, partially ejecting Flores who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traveling with Flores was Christian Carvajal Lopez, 22, and 2-year-old Yamilet Calderon. Both were taken to Louisville hospitals to receive care for their non-life threatening injuries. All passengers were believed to have been wearing seatbelts.
