Dickson Co. High School Student Dies Following Monday Wreck

Dickson Co. High School Student Dies Following Monday Wreck

Students at Dickson County High School are mourning the loss of a classmate this week following a wreck that killed a mid-state sophomore.

Tennessee Highway Patrol report 16-year-old Justin Roberts, of White Bluff, Tenn., died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after running his 2003 Nissan Altima off the road, into an embankment and striking several trees. THP state Roberts was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which officials say could have been a lifesaving difference.

No signs of drug or alcohol use were found, but investigators do believe speed could have been a contributing factor. Roberts was traveling alone and the only vehicle involved.
