Law aims to prevent Nashville auto accidents, but few citations given

The ban on texting and driving came into effect in July 2009 to prevent Nashville auto accidents, but only 19 citations have been written since, according to Tennessean.com.

Since the law is new and there are loopholes for getting around it, Nashville police say it’s hard to spot every time it happens.

Tennessee law may ban texting, but it’s legal to talk on the phone, although talking can also cause a Nashville auto accident.
