Robertson Co. Wreck Seriously Injures Two

A fiery highway collision in Tennessee has critically injured one and seriously injured another Tuesday morning in Robertson County.

Newschannel5.com is reporting a car being driven by 21-year-old Myles T. Dye was traveling on Highway 41, near Jo Byrns Elementary, shortly before 5 a.m. when Dye veered into on-coming traffic, striking a tractor trailer head on. Upon impact, the big rig traveled off the highway and ignited into flames.

Dye was critically injured during the incident and was transported by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center to receive care for his injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, Jake Leding, 79, was transported to Northcrest Regional in Springfield initially, but transported to Vanderbilt later in the day.

Tennessee Highway Patrol states charges are pending in the accident.

1-65 Northbound Shuts Down on Sunday, Fatal Wreck Kills One

This four-vehicle crash claimed the life of Judith Boden, 62, of Lexington. Our thoughts go out to the Boden Family.

According to www.bgdailynews.com, the crash happened just before 10:00 A.M. on Sunday morning, going northbound on I-65 near Cave City.

The Kentucky State Police say, a 2008 Volvo carrying a trailer was traveling south when the driver, Jaromir Gredzjiak of Countryside, III., lost control. Gredzjiak, crossed over the cable barrier and struck Judith Boden in her 2011 Honda FEB. Boden was pronounced dead at the scene.

A tractor-trailer and a pick up truck also struck the Volvo, six others were taken to area hospitals for unmentioned injuries.

Northbound 1-65 remained closed for much of the afternoon as the Kentucky State Police and other agencies investigated and cleaned the scene.

Fatal I-40 Wrecks Leads to Vehicular Homicide Charges

The driver of the tractor-trailer that caused a chain reaction wreck Wednesday afternoon has been charged with vehicular homicide after his Semi struck three vehicles, killing a Loudon County woman.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Darold Eugene Reimer was operating his tractor trailer on I-40 when he rear-ended another semi. Reimer then tried to pass the semi in the center lane, side-swiping it. Reimer lost control of his rig, exited the roadway and then reentered the roadway on the ramp, striking a Saturn. Reimer’s truck continued to travel on the ramp, where it pinned a Ford Focus against the guardrail, rolling on top of the vehicle.

The driver of the Focus, Kimberly D. Townson, 42, of Loudon, was killed in the incident. The driver of the Saturn, Kathy Kennett, 63, and her passenger, Keith Kennett, 66, of Kingston, were both injured. Neither of the tractor-trailer operators were injured.

According to WBIR.com, THP states citations are pending in addition to the charges of vehicular homicide.

One Dies Following I-40 Wreck in Bellevue

 

A Nashville woman lost her life over the weekend following a collision with a tractor-trailer along I-40 in Bellevue.

According to metro police, Linda Gorrell, 49, was traveling east on I-40 when her Jeep Grand Cherokee rear-ended a tractor trailer parked along-side the interstate.

WKRN.com reports Gorrell’s vehicle became entrapped underneath the semi, causing her to have to be extracted from the wreckage. As the cause of the accident continues to be investigated, police have reported they found no visible evidence to indicate drugs or alcohol contributed to the fatal accident. 

Hughes and Coleman would like to extend their thoughts to the family and friends of all who were involved in this tragic accident.

Three Cars involved in Kingsport Wreck

Two cars and a tractor trailer were involved in a Thursday morning wreck, sending two to local hospitals with injuries.

As reported by the timesnews.net, Johnny Hartsock, 28, of Church Hill, was traveling through Kingsport with his tractor-trailer when he reportedly ran a red light, striking two cars driven by Stephanie Fine, Blountville, and Melissa Whitehead, of Bristol. According to reports, Hartsock was traveling nearly 15 mph faster than the suggested speed limit.

Each of the women suffered only minor injuries, but Tennessee Highway Patrol state the damage would have been substantial had the empty Semi been packing a larger load.
