Hughes & Coleman partnered with radio station Beaver 96.7 and local IGA grocery stores to raise funds and resources for the Pack A Sack program, which provides a supplemental food source to area children who are at risk of going hungry on the weekends when school meals are unavailable and resources at home are limited. Nutritious, easy-to-prepare foods are sent home in a child’s backpack at the end of each week to ensure they have something to eat until they return for breakfast on Monday morning. This year’s program raised more than $4,000 in cash, checks, and canned food items.
There are more than 3,600 children participating in this program in Kentucky—and 300 of those children are in Warren County.
In conjunction with Feeding America, Pack A Sack is a benefit for Hope House Ministries’ Backpacks for Bowling Green.
Hundreds to benefit from local food drive.
