How Can We Help?

Aleece McKnight

"As a lawyer, I have a duty to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves and stand up for the rights of all who are destitute. It is my obligation to provide the best possible representation to each and every client.”
Aleece McKnight is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, she knew that she wanted to be an attorney; she wanted to be the voice that she was deprived of at such a young age.

Attorney Aleece McKnight received her Bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Pursuing her goal of becoming an attorney, she went on to receive her law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX where she graduated with honors. At Thurgood Marshall, Aleece was very involved within the school: Student Ambassador, Associate Editor of the Law Journal, the 3L Class President, Board of Advocates, Honor Court Clerk, Student Bar Association, a Civil Procedure tutor, as well as a practicing student attorney in the Wills and Trust Clinic.

Aleece has clerked for the Honorable Chancellor Walter Evans and has worked as a solo practitioner in the areas of family law, criminal defense, and civil litigation. She also worked for a local firm as a bankruptcy attorney handling both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Currently, she continues her dedication to helping others at Hughes and Coleman handling auto injury cases. Also, Aleece continues to serve her community by volunteering at legal clinics and with TN Access to Justice. She is licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

In her free time, she enjoys dancing, cooking, planning events, traveling, bowling, as well as enjoying time with friends and family. Aleece is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Tennessee Bar Association, Napier-Looby Bar Association, Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Napier-Looby Bar Foundation Board of Directors.
