Injuries from the Drug Viagra® Lawyers

In 2014, the JAMA Internal Medicine reported that Viagra®  was linked to an 84% increase in the likelihood of developing melanoma.

These studies used a test group of 25,000 men and followed them for approximately 10 years. Of these men, 142 of these men were diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer.

Lawsuits against Pfizer allege that the company withheld critical information about the cancer risks associated with the use of the medication.

It appears that Pfizer failed to:

  • Issue any type of Viagra® recall to protect men or alert them to the problem with the medication
  • Adequately research or provide information about the side effects
  • Alert men to the increased risk of skin cancer and never provided warnings about it
  • Update any of the labels or warnings AFTER it was discovered that there was a risk of skin cancer

In a recent lawsuit against Pfizer, a claim was made that stated that Pfizer marketed Viagra without mentioning any potential risk for melanoma development and/or exacerbation of melanoma associated with the use of the drug in commercials, online and print advertisements.
