Kevin has spent his career representing clients throughout the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky, from Pikeville to Paducah. With experience in medical malpractice claims, civil litigation, and criminal cases, Kevin has represented victims on nearly all fronts.
His path to becoming a lawyer started first with Kevin earning a B.A. in Political Science, graduating with distinction from the University of Kentucky. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Prior to joining Hughes & Coleman, Kevin worked in public service as Assistant County Attorney for the Carter County Attorney’s Office in Grayson, Kentucky, before going into private practice. During his career, Mr. Hackworth has represented clients in a wide range of civil litigation and criminal matters, with his focus primarily in the area of medical malpractice litigation. He has obtained million dollar plus settlements for Plaintiffs and defense verdicts for physicians and hospitals in 15 jury trials, as well as having effectively defended criminal clients, including a death penalty client acquitted of capital murder.
Away from the office, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie, and daughter, Annabelle. An avid photographer, Kevin feels as comfortable behind a camera as he does in a courtroom. He also enjoys soaking up some sun while hiking, fishing or visiting America’s National Parks.
