Attorneys from Hughes & Coleman have filed a wrongful death lawsuit in relation to one of the victims killed in the Hickman County explosion that took place on October 10, 2025. The firm represents the daughter of Jeremy Moore.
The lawsuit currently names one defendant and alleges that the company failed to take the proper precautions, leading to a catastrophic explosion that could have been prevented.
“This is a disaster of epic proportions,” said lead attorney Lee Coleman of Hughes & Coleman. “This explosion involved ultrahazardous materials, and the devastation it caused impacts dozens, if not hundreds, of lives. The loved ones will be in mourning for years, and
our clients are still shocked by this horrible tragedy.”
Hughes & Coleman continues to investigate the incident and has partnered with Armstrong Lee & Baker and Terry Bryant, PLLC out of Texas, who both have a rich history in successfully litigating explosion cases. Together, these firms will analyze the defendant’s actions, the chemicals involved, and the events that led to the explosion. The firm is committed to devoting every necessary resource to uncover the truth and secure justice for the victims’ families.
“Those killed were hardworking, devoted employees who should be enjoying their lives,” Mr. Coleman added. “Instead, their loved ones are planning funerals and memorials in their memory.”
According to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), the explosion occurred at the Accurate Energetic Systems (AES) facility in Bucksnort, Tennessee, which is approximately 56 miles southwest of Nashville. The explosion prompted an immediate emergency response, with the State Emergency Operations Center in Nashville activated at Level 4 (Elevated) to support local efforts.
Officials have emphasized that there was no ongoing threat to public health or safety but advised the public to avoid the area due to continuing emergency operations and road closures.
